Cheese Sticks

It’s been long time I made something with cheese. I had Cheese sticks in one of the coffee shop and was just flat for it. Here it is in my version…………….

Cheese Sticks :

Ingredients:
Cheese cubes : 4-5 nos. (I used Amul processed Cheese cubes, you can use Mozzarella Cheese too)
Maida (All purpose Flour)  – ½ cup
Egg – 1 no.
Bread crumbs – ¼ cup
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Cut the Cheese cubes into long thick sticks. You can make 4 long pieces in one Amul Cheese cube. Keep it aside.

Beat the egg with Pepper and salt in a bowl. Take Maida in a small plate, keep it aside. Spread the bread crumbs in a small plate. You need all these prior preparations before you start………..

For Vegetarians, take 4-5 tsps of maida in a small bowl, add pepper, salt to taste and water to make a smooth batter. Make sure the batter is not too thin, It should be easily coated to Cheese sticks.

Take the Cheese sticks, dip it in the egg mixture or the maida batter. Then dip it in the Maida flour, make sure the flour is coated completely on the cheese sticks. Now again dip it in the egg mixture or the maida batter. Finally dip it in the bread crumbs now, make sure the Cheese Sticks are nicely coated with the bread crumbs. Keep it aside. Similarly follow the same process for all the Cheese sticks.

This is called Double dipping to make sure you get crispy Cheese Sticks.

An easy Tip - You can use a Fork to hold your cheese sticks to dip it in Egg/Maida/bread crumbs, otherwise it’s a bit messy.

Freeze the Cheese Sticks for about one hour in the freezer. In this way the Cheese sticks become firm to deep fry.

After one hour, remove your Cheese sticks and deep fry until it turns golden brown.

Serve hot with tangy sauce.
