Dry Fruit Chikkis

It’s Diwali time, you can see every where the celebrations and twinkling lights. A joyful way to welcome the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. Special time to meet your near and dear ones, exchange gifts, spend wonderful time with loads of fun!!!!!!

And the wonderful delicacies you get to have, wohhhhhhhh nothing to match it. I’ve tried to give some unusual yet special Diwali delicacies here…..

Dry Fruit Chikki

Ingredients:

Cashew nuts  :  ½ cup
Almonds : ½ cup
Raisins : ½ cup
Pista : ½ cup
Sugar : 1½ cup
Cardamom Powder : 1/4 tsp
Kesar : Few strands
Ghee : 4-5 tsps

Method :
Cut all the dry fruits into small pieces using a sharp knife.

Grease the kitchen slab (ensure the kitchen slab is neatly cleaned) and the rolling pin with ghee.

Take a nonstick pan, add sugar and allow the sugar to melt on a low flame. Just before the sugar is completely melted, add the dry fruits, Cardamom Powder, Kesar strands and mix well. Make sure the sugar syrup is coated to the entire dry fruits pieces.

Spread the dry fruit mixture on the kitchen slab and using the rolling pin spread the dry fruit mixture. You have to flatten the mixture evenly on the slab like pressing a puri.  Allow it to cool, cut the chikkis into desired shapes and serve.

You can store them for 2 weeks in air tight containers.
