Veg Momos

Very suspiciously I tried this recipe at home for the first time and to my surprise this was a super hit at home.  Very simple, healthy and can be cooked with minimal ingredients at home. I tried only the steamed Momos this time, probably very soon I’ll have the blog posted on Some yummy chicken fried momos.

Veg Momos

Ingredients:

Maida – ½ cup
Oil – 1 tsp
Water – As needed to make the dough
Salt to taste

For Stuffing:

Finely chopped cabbage – ½ cup
Finely chopped Carrot – ¼ cup
Finely chopped Spring onion – ¼ cup
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tsps
Soya Sauce – ½ tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

Mix Maida, salt and oil in a bowl and add water to make smooth poori dough. Keep it aside covered.
Take a nonstick pan, add oil and heat it on a low flame. Add the cabbage, carrot and spring onions, fry them on a low flame.  Add salt, pepper and Soya sauce, mix well all the ingredients. Cook until the vegetables are done.
Take the dough and divide them into 10-12 small balls. Roll each of these small dough balls in to small discs (smaller than poori size). Keep the stuffing in the center of the disc and start folding in the edges to give the momos shape.

Steam it in a steamer or cooker for 6-7 mins. I used the normal Idli cooker to steam the Momos.
Serve hot with Chili dip or hot garlic sauce.
